Product Capture privacy

What it is
Palettiq Product Capture is a browser extension for interior designers and builders who use Palettiq. It turns a product page you are looking at into a product card — name, price, finish, size, pictures, specifications and documents — and saves it to one of your studio's projects or its material library.
When it reads a page
Only when you press Capture this page (or choose “Capture this product” from the right-click menu). It reads the tab you are on at that moment and no other. While you review a capture, it re-checks that same tab every few seconds to notice if you pick a different finish; that check stays in your browser and is not sent anywhere. It does not read pages in the background, record your browsing, or track which sites you visit.
Chrome lists the extension as able to “read and change data on all websites”. That permission is what lets the side panel capture whichever product page you have open without a fresh click on each site. The extension changes a page only when you ask it to — selecting a finish you tapped in the panel, or briefly highlighting text while you “pick on page”.
What is sent, and where
- To Palettiq: the page's address and title, its visible text, its product data, the options shown, the addresses of its pictures, and links to its documents.
- To Anthropic (Claude), only when a page gives too little to read on its own: the page's address, title and visible text, to identify the product. Most captures never use it.
- Documents you tick are downloaded by your browser — using your own sign-in to that site, so trade-only files work — and stored in Palettiq with the product.
Nothing is sold, shared for advertising, or used to profile you.
What is kept
Only what you save: the product's details, the pictures' addresses, the documents you ticked, and the product page's address. The page text used to read a capture is not stored. Saved products belong to your studio and are visible to the people your studio gives access to that project or library.
When you fix a field with “pick on page”, Palettiq keeps where on that store's page the value sat (a page location such as “the price label”), so the next capture from that store reads it there — for every Palettiq user. It records the store and the place on its page, never the value you picked or anything about you. Your studio also keeps a log of which stores it captured from and which fields needed fixing, visible to your studio only.
Your capture token
The extension connects to Palettiq with a personal token you make in Settings → Product Capture. It is shown once and kept in your browser's extension storage; Palettiq stores only a one-way fingerprint of it. A token can only list the projects you can edit and add products and documents to them, as you. Tokens expire after 90 days unless refreshed, and you — or your studio's owner or admin — can revoke one at any time.
Removing it
Remove the extension from Chrome to stop it entirely; revoke its token in Settings to cut it off from Palettiq. Products you saved stay in your projects until you or your studio delete them.
